Early Life

He was raised in a deeply Christian fundamentalist environment where he was trained to be a housewife and mother. He took care of a lot of the community's kids and though it was a role forced onto him that made him grow up too fast, he still has a soft spot for children.

he strict gender roles he lived under never felt right but it wasn’t until he entered his teens that he began to realize he was different. Even after discovering he was trans, he was fearful of the backlash he’d receive and stayed in the closet until college when he could support himself. When he came out, all hell broke loose in his life with most of his family and friends rejecting him. He’s still in contact with his immediate family, but the relationship is a bit distant. He doesn’t mind though, since now he’s building his own found family of humans and aliens.

Present Day

When you ask Auden what his job is he replies “jack of all trades and master of like two of them” as though that’s a satisfactory answer. His actual job mostly involves cleaning and basic repairs around the base, but like nearly every human that encounters the Autobots, he finds himself drawn into their conflict on occasion. Some days he’s fixing a broken door hinge one moment and then turning around to help sabotage a ‘Con the next.

When you ask him if Auden is his real name he says “no” and refuses to elaborate. Some of the bots claim they’ve seen his ID and it is in fact his legal name, others fiercely dispute this. He’s only secretive on purpose when it’s funny and you’ve just gotta get close enough to unlock his backstory to get the full picture.

Auden is often very quiet until you accidentally ask him a question that presses the “I must lecture you on this topic” button. Then he will not shut up. He can give Swerve a run for his money, especially when it comes to talking about kids movies. He can seem immature at first because of his carefree attitude and love of edibles, but dig a little deeper and you’ve got an incredibly loyal friend who is truly empathetic and emotionally mature.

While he likes humans just fine, ever since working with the Autobots, Auden has had a thing for mechs. He’s always been attracted to the idea of monsters and aliens, finding them fascinating and liking to think they wouldn’t see him as odd since all humans would be odd to them. So when he discovered aliens existed, you bet he wanted to try and sleep with one.

He’s slept with way more than just one by now and with Earth’s horizons expanding, that list of aliens includes more than just Cybertronians. In extreme defiance of his upbringing, he’s very casual about sex, seeing it as just another experience to enjoy and share with people. While he’s not aromantic, he’s easily able to remove romantic feelings from sex and eventually ends up in a queerplatonic relationship with Delta.

He leans towards polyamory, finding it to be the most fulfilling and healthy relationship style for him. It’s provided flexibility and a lack of pressure to be everything for someone else. This flexibility extends to the bedroom where he’s more than happy to slide into different roles. He’s a true switch. Dominant or submissive. Top or bottom. He’s happy either way and will try just about anything at least once.
